The Ford Focus Electric is Almost Here
Within the next few weeks, we will all finally be able to check out the very expected Ford Focus Electric. The vehicle will be first available in only three states: New York, New Jersey and California. But, it is expected to be available in many more states by the end of 2012.
The vehicle is zero tailpipe emissions and can be charge in only 4 hours, even faster than some digital cameras.
It comes with very handy interfaces that help the driver be aware of energy management, how they are driving and to help them monitor their vehicles. You can even continue to monitor the vehicle with the MyFord Mobile app availble for Blackberry, iPhone and Android. This app also allows you to lock and unlock the vehicle remotely. You can even heat your car before leaving to work in winter from the comfort of your home.
Another cool feature and very useful one, is the ability to find near charging stations. The driver can also add multiple destinations and know right ahead if the destination can be reached with the current battery level.
Customers can also pay an extra $1,500 to have 240-volt smart charger installed at their homes.
As with all electric vehicles, there is a $7,500 federal tax that will be applied at any dealership.
