New Ford Focus Electric on the Works

The new Ford Focus all electric vehicle is expected to be available at over 60 dealerships in California, New Jersey and New York later this spring. It will be available nationwide by the end of 2012.

This vehicle is priced at $39,200 and it fits 4 people. It is a beautiful hatchback and it has been rated as the most fuel efficient car by the Environmental Protection Agency. It has a 110 miles per gallon city rating.

As with all electric vehicles, there is a $7,500 federal tax rebate and you can find additional rebates and incentives depending on the dealership and the state.

The most common concern amongst car buyers is how far they can get before the battery dies and needs to be re-charged. The average is about 76 miles, but it can vary depending on driving habits, temperature and how many accessories are working in the car. In winter time the distance may be much lower than 76 miles but in summer it can go as high as 100 miles or more.
